Xi Kappa Inc. is an active member of Link. Link is an organization which raises the awarness of the plight of North Korean refugees from Liberation in North Korea. They are a non-profit organization that oversees North Korean refugees as they make their way from North Korea to China. Each year Xi Kappa Inc. participates and raises funds for Relay For Life, which is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, Xi Kappa Inc. camp out at a the Georgia Tech SAC Field and take turns walking or running around a track or path. We are also asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
Each year Xi Kappa Inc. participates in AIDS Walk Atlanta. In these walks, the brothers embark on a 5K Run to raise the much needed funds for organizations throughout the metro-Atlanta area. These organizations provide essential programs and services to men, women and children who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Xi Kappa Inc. also participate in TEA WALK with Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS). Tea Walk is organized to walk in unity to celebrate the diversity of our community and to promote civic engagement. It’s the largest empowerment walk of its kind in the South. Locally, nearly 20 different ethnic Asian American communities, associations, religious affiliations, local universities, community allies, and media participated in the walk.
Xi Kappa Inc. Beta Chapter also supports the atlanta community by participating in TEAM Buzz each year. TEAM Buzz is an organization devoted to making Atlanta better. Through the organization, Xi Kappa participate in projects ranging from charity races through the city to converting an old parking garage into a homeless shelter.The concept is simple; provide a service day that will act as a focal point and allow our campus to come together with a single plan and strategy to improve our community.
